God reached into Himself and created her

She asked that this hymn be sung at her funeral,

Hymn of Promise

In the bulb there is a flower
In the seed an apple tree.
In cocoons, a hidden promise.
Butterflies will soon be free!
In the cold and snow of winter,
There’s a spring that waits to be
Unrevealed until its season.
Something God alone can see.

She was my mother and I ache to talk with her again.

Dearest Catherine,

I know your aching heart because I lost my mother, too. Hold on to God's hand real tight--this was the best advice that I received when I was grieving.

With sincere condolences,

Catherine -- I'm so sorry that I hadn't checked your blog earlier -- my condolences. My mother died in January -- and we just passed the 40 day "mark." In Europe, that day is a big day -- you sort of have a celebration/wake, and it is a nice way to have a little more closure.

It's still very hard.
